Chard Farm's Mata-Au vineyards are located in the Lowburn and Parkburn areas of the Cromwell basin. The vineyards are planted on the terraces and alluvial schist based soils formed by the Mata-Au (Clutha) River (pronounced martar-o). The unique combination of site, soil and mild continental climate produces perfumed wines with elegant texture, structure and mineral length. It is made from the best blocks in our best vineyards in the Lowburn/Parkburn sub-region. Mata-Au showcases the succulent red fruits and silky tannins that are the hallmarks of this sub-region, delivered in our elegant, textural and length driven style. The bouquet becomes increasingly attractive as it shifts through ripe red berries, sweet floral tones, darker spicy notes and herby complexity. The fresh red fruits, spice, and later wild herb flavours hold a wonderfully harmonious shape and texture, nicely supported with fine persistent tannins and calm acidity.

An aromatic and punchy perfume of red cherry, pomegranate and delicate fresh florals layered over subtle undergrowth captures the essence of Pinot Noir. Fresh red fruits and herbal tones lay on a bed of silky tannin that evolves into a fine, sustained finish. There is a pronounced mineral character and pleasant acidity which creates a harmony that is assured and invigorating.

Château Branas Grand Poujeaux enjoys a 17-hectare terroir centered around the ancient gravel sediments of the Grand Poujeaux plateau, on the most eastern side of the appellation, planted to 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. The Grand Poujeaux plateau offers among the best terroirs of Bordeaux. Les Eclats de Branas Grand Poujeaux reveals a crunchy and 'gourmand' fruitiness. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon exclusively, it is well-balanced and offers a beautiful enhancement of the fruit. The smoothness of its tannins and the maturing process measured in wood make it a very pleasant wine to drink in its young years.

The harvest from these parcels is always carried out later because of the dominant varieties, Cabernet Franc & Cabernet Sauvignon. Careful vinification gives this wine depth, elegance and length in the mouth. The floral bouquet of the Cabernet variety is predominant in the wines youth but develops later towards the more complex aromas of a Grand Vin de Bordeaux. Beautiful deep colour with purple tints. Focused and fruity nose with faint toast in the background. The same fairly elegant aromatic combination flows through to the palate. A very accessible, supple, crisp Bordeaux.

Château de Pez is one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux's Left Bank and consists of 118 continuous acres with 103 acres planted to prime grape varieties, mainly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks to the quality of its production, Château de Pez is counted among the most highly reputed crus of the Médoc and was reclassified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in 2003. Elegant and modern, Pez 2nd is produced sustainably from the young vines of Château de Pez. Fresh, rich and well-balanced on the palate with a precise finish underpinned by delicious tannins.

Originally founded in the 15th century, Château de Pez is one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux's Left Bank and the oldest domaine in Saint-Estèphe. Château de Pez consists of 104 continuous acres with 94 acres planted mainly to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Very expressive nose of iris, raspberry and cocoa bean. The palate, marked by notes of raspberry and cedar, is smooth and velvety. Full-bodied and well-balanced, a captivatingly wine of fine dimensions, good length and well-integrated tannins.

Made from Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino) grapes, its pale colour is pleasing to the eye and draws one in. The rewarding taste profile is full and lush while being bone dry with a smooth finish. A blend of the best free run juices and press juices, fermented and aged in stainless steel with temperature control.

Château Fontarèche is one of the oldest estates in Languedoc. The Château is surrounded by 160 hectares of vines which are sustainably farmed. This Viognier has enticing aromas of Apricot, Peach and white flowers. The flavours on the palate are gloriously concentrated, and the wine has a silky texture balanced by a nice acidity.
