Poderi Cellario's Galli Nebbiolo is an exceptional expression of this renowned varietal. As is typical of a young Nebbiolo, it presents a powerful profile with vibrant acidity and earthy tannins. While it carries the signature intensity of Nebbiolo, it is slightly brighter than usual, showcasing alluring aromas of ripe prune, rich forest floor, and smoky tobacco. This wine not only delights now but also offers excellent aging potential, promising even more complexity with time.

According to Jewish folklore, Lilith was the first wife of Adam. She was banished from the Garden of Eden when she refused to make herself subservient to Adam's sexual requests. When she was cast out of the Garden, she was made into a demon, and Adam was given a second wife, Eve, who was fashioned from his rib to ensure her obedience to her man. Where Adam was created from dust, Lilith was created from filth and sediment. Primitivo refuses to be submissive to the oenology that it is the same grape as its close relative Zinfandel. Many subscribe to this idea, though they are both mutations of Crljenak, a Croatian varietal. Primitivo always brings plenty of flesh and ripeness to the table with a solid spine of certainty and structure.

For Bourgogne Pinot Noir, typicity is of the utmost importance. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from a blend of Côte d'Or, Saône et Loire and Yonne terroirs. Prosper Maufoux Bourgogne Pinot Noir is typical of the Pinot Noir grape variety: a fruity, fresh wine. On the nose, its aromas of blackcurrant and cherry are enchanting. On the palate, its supple tannins confirm its maturity. Its ageing in vats underlines its fruitiness and freshness.

Dense, sustained ruby/garnet. Dizzingly aromatic, swells from the glass: indurate spice - clove, cumin, caraway, cassia; ripe and bright red fruit - raspberry, redcurrant, Morello cherry. Quite a head-spinning, aromatic ride. Penetrating, juicy, sappy, brisk yet enveloping; vibrant flavours of red fruit and spice; also a lively earthy component that is relatively new to this vineyard, arriving in recent vintages: born of vine age and a deeper root structure, no doubt. One could hardly ask for a more invigorating, seductive, and briskly legitimate example of this wine.

From the Snake's Tongue parcel planted in 2007 at Pyramid Valley's estate in Lowburn, Central Otago. Bright ruby hue. Complex, alluring nose of dark fruits, cherries and cloves, invoking forest floor and wild thyme. A powerful wine with flavours of complex red fruits and game meats. The mouthfeel is plush and silky, while the structure unfolds into a juicy and evocative expression of this very special piece of land.

Bright crimson hue. Alluring lifted aromas of thyme and red cherries. An underlying spicy complexity explodes from the glass. The soft silky texture and fine-grain tannins surround bright red fruits and crunchy acidity which give the wine freshness and length.

Deep crimson in appearance. A complex nose showcasing black cherry, black raspberry, baking spices, vanilla and earthy undertones. Juicy and ripe dark berries balanced by youthful freshness and acidity. Robust tannins offering depth, structure and aging potential.

Deep crimson hue. Deep brooding nose of plum and blue fruits with lifted floral spicy notes. Full bodied Pinot Noir with ripe rich fruits, mouth filling texture and round plush tannins giving the wine weight and power that lingers on the palate with a savoury, moreish finish.

Deep crimson red with purple hue in colour. A deeply perfumed nose displaying blackcurrant and plum, complimented by vanilla and cedar aromas from oak. The rich, rounded palate showcases vibrant plum and dark berry fruits. The finish is long with fine silky tannins adding length . Perfect with grilled duck breast with sour cherry glaze. Beef and porcini mushroom casserole. This wine has the flavour, structure and balance to be enjoyed now or offers added satisfaction from further cellaring.

Intense red with purple hues. Intense youthful fresh ripe berry fruit flavours with some well integrated vanillin oak. Full bodied dense ripe berry fruit flavours balanced with vanillin oak but yet long and smooth. Serve with a red wine casserole or a juicy steak with red onion jam. This wine has the flavour, structure and balance to be enjoyed now or offers added satisfaction from further cellaring.

The grapes were picked at between 13.5 to 14.0 Baume to produce the fruit flavours that are required to make this great wine. The grapes were fermented in a mixture of vessels to produce as much colour and flavour as possible. Portion of the wine underwent oak during fermentation and once dry, the remaining went to oak until the right balance was achieved. Careful tasting and blending, by Quarisa's winemaker, help produce this wine of style and great value for money.
