Trail Rider wines are hand made from fruit grown on Eight Ranges' micro vineyard that overlooks the Central Otago Rail Trail. These are serious wines made with no corners cut, designed to be enjoyed and shared now, although these wines will develop with time. This is an enticingly elegant Pinot Noir with concentrated berry fruits and a herbaceous note reflecting the local thyme that grows around the winemakers vineyard. A smooth, lingering finish is supported by fine smoky notes providing a lovely savoury balance.

A proprietary estate red blend sourced mainly from the warm, inland soils of Bridge Pa Triangle and Gimblett Gravels. Wonderfully fruited and elegantly complex, the bouquet shows blackcurrant, sweet cherry, cedar, thyme and warm spice aromas, leading to a gorgeously flavoursome palate offering succulent fruit intensity together with silky texture and fine-grained tannins. Supple and lingering with a delectable finish.

Intense red with purple hues. Full bodied with dense ripe cassis fruit flavours balanced with vanillin oak but yet long and smooth. Try with char grilled sirloin or a heart minestrone. A blend of fruit from some of Quarisa's key vineyards in South Australia. Enchanted Tree Shiraz is a medium to full bodied, rich, dark fruited style. The kind of Shiraz that the guy's become famous for!

A gorgeous shiraz, the instantly appealing bouquet shows blackberry, blueberry compote, mocha and cedar characters. This wine is rich and generously loaded with red fruits, black cherry and spice on the palate.

This wine has a ruby red colour with garnet reflections. Intense, persistent and fruity and flowery fragrance with hints of cherry, blackberries, ripe red fruits. Well-bodied, tannic and well balanced. Excellent with savoured first dishes, roast meats, mature cheeses and dark chocolate.

Central Otago's cool climate consistently produces exceptional red fruit flavours of cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, but with concentration and length to match. This wine is layered with black and red berry fruits, complemented by blossoming aromas of dark plum.

Bright red fruit aromas of cassis and blueberries with sarsaparilla notes. The palate is full bodied and rich, presenting vibrant plum and cherry flavours, layered with vanilla hints and spicy peppercorn notes.

Bright fresh and lively Shiraz. Ripe fruit overtones with dark cherries with spiced plum, black pepper and spice with subtle integration of oak. A middle-weighted palate with serious intent; bright florals, juicy fruit and a lifted integration of earthy spice note and black pepper. Soft mouth coating tannin, a creamy texture and subtle oak provides a poised, elegant finish. The small additions of Touriga National, Malbec with a dash of Viognier gives complexity and aromatic lift followed with subtle texture. Good acidity and fine tannins combine to create a soft finishing, well weighted cool climate style. Ideal food wine which will complement many dishes including pork, lamb and duck.

This is a stellar wine from one of Piemonte's great producers, the Gaja family, which bought two vineyards in Barolo 1995 from a family named Gromi. The name of the wine, Da Gromis, is Italian for 'at home with the Gromis family'. This wine is made from two vineyards, one in Serralunga and one in La Morra. Grapes from each are fermented separately then aged for 12 months in oak, then blended and aged for a further 18 months in large oak.
