With dark purple hues, this savoury pinot noir releases lifted aromas of raspberry and dark cherry with hints of iodine and black olive. The palate is full of kirsch cherry and cassis flavours, umami, liquorice and a sprinkling of dried herbs. A focused frame and crunchy tannins contribute to a glossy mouth feel and a slightly peppery finish.

Serve chilled. Red ruby hue. Aromas of cool redcurrant, early peach and hints of liquorice and nutmeg. The palate has a light, fine and vibrant texture. It's fresh, with early raspberry and cherry stone followed by a mineral lingering finish. This is an un-fined and unfiltered wine with small amounts of sediment and no added sulphur.

A complex nose showing layers of black cherry, cinnamon and cedar. The palate is spice driven with vibrant red cherries supporting the denser more concentrated dark fruits. The weighty structure provides a solid backbone to the wine which follows through to a long cassis and cocoa finish.

The Pot de Fleur is so named for the small flower pot shaped fermenters we use. Building on this we work with self-taught NZ artist Margarita Vovna who designed this unique label - the textured background is a reproduction of the paper which Margarita creates from up-cycling Guadalupe County ranchers flannel. Chard Farm's Mata-Au vineyards are located in the Lowburn and Parkburn areas of the Cromwell basin. The vineyards are planted on the terraces and alluvial schist based soils formed by the Mata-Au (Clutha) River (pronounced martar-o). The unique combination of site, soil and mild continental climate produces perfumed wines with elegant texture, structure and mineral length. It is made from the best blocks in our best vineyards in the Lowburn/Parkburn sub-region. Mata-Au showcases the succulent red fruits and silky tannins that are the hallmarks of this sub-region, delivered in our elegant, textural and length driven style. The bouquet becomes increasingly attractive as it shifts through ripe red berries, sweet floral tones, darker spicy notes and herby complexity. The fresh red fruits, spice, and later wild herb flavours hold a wonderfully harmonious shape and texture, nicely supported with fine persistent tannins and calm acidity.
