Originally crafted by Kentucky Bourbon Hall-of-Famer Eddie Russell as 'Wild Turkey 81', Wild Turkey Bourbon is aged in American White Oak barrels with the deepest, No. 4 'alligator' char. Nose is 'vanilla lemon cake', the palate is a balance of caramel, vanilla, spices and citrus. I'm not sure if they made the opulent bottle to match the Whiskey or vice versa.

Woodford Reserve Rye pays homage to history with a pre-Prohibition style mash bill of 53% rye. Spice and tobacco lead the way, supported by layers of fruit, floral and sweet aromatics that create depth and approachability. The nose is distinctly spicy with notes of rye, black pepper, cedar and cassia bark, softened by marzipan and hints of pear, apple and almond. An innovative twice-barreled bourbon, uniquely matured in two charred oak barrels to create its rich, layered character. After initial maturation, the bourbon is transferred to a second barrel that has been deeply toasted and lightly charred, drawing out additional soft, sweet oak notes. The nose reveals rich aromas of dark fruit, caramel, sharp honey, chocolate, marzipan and toasted oak, while the palate is full-bodied with flavours of vanilla, dark caramel, hazelnut, apple, fruit and spice.
