Max's Cabernet Sauvignon honours this legacy with a refined take on one of Australia's most iconic varieties. Aromas of cumin, fresh clove, paprika and cardamom are complemented by savoury notes of roasted vegetables, olive oil, lamb and rosemary. The palate reveals rhubarb, cranberry, earthy beetroot and summer pudding flavours, layered with creamy oak nuances of cashew and walnut. Fine, powdery tannins deliver a smooth, balanced finish.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon parcels sourced from vineyards throughout the Barossa. The fruit is fermented for up to 14 days, then aged for 12 months in a mix of French and American oak. Individual parcels of fruit are matured separately to maximise the blend's complexity and finalised through a selection process. The resulting wine is rich and concentrated with aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, blackcurrants and plums with mint and varietal leafy notes. The palate is plush with flavours balanced by fine, textural tannins.

The grapes were picked at between 13.5 to 14.0 Baume to produce the fruit flavours that are required to make this great wine. The grapes were fermented in a mixture of vessels to produce as much colour and flavour as possible. Portion of the wine underwent oak during fermentation and once dry, the remaining went to oak until the right balance was achieved. Careful tasting and blending, by Quarisa's winemaker, help produce this wine of style and great value for money.

Named after the family cottage built by Penfolds founder Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold in 1845, Rawson's Retreat honours the winery's rich heritage while offering an approachable taste of classic Australian winemaking. This medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of red berries, blackberries, cassis and hints of nutmeg. The palate is soft and rounded with natural fruit sweetness, silky tannins, and a touch of spicy oak. For an Italian-inspired gathering to a steakhouse-style dinner party, this wine is welcome at every occasion.

Medium deep crimson. Light blackcurrant blueberry aromas with hints of black olive, dried herb and brambly notes. Well concentrated wine with plentiful ripe juicy dark and red fruits, fine tannin, good mid-palate sweetness and fresh long acidity. Vegan friendly.

The nose has rich aromas of violets, black cherries and mulberries with hints of cassis and forest-floor characters. The wine opens with the pretty floral characters of the nose and a rich blackberry edge before progressing to the mocha oak mid palate and finishing with succulent tannins that continue the experience long after the wine has left your mouth.

Primary aromas of blackberry and dark cherry are complemented by notes of dark chocolate, freshly turned earth and bay leaf. Balanced acidity, textured tannins and subtle French oak envelop and focus the sweet, dark berry fruit into the long finish.

Cool red berry fruits, but berry fruits that are also ripe and rounded. The tannins are smooth and welcoming, yet cabernet tannins will do what cabernet tannins will do: sweep through the palate. Accompanying them is a neat acidity and a slick, balanced alcohol. Cabernet sauvignon in equilibrium.
