The 'P&R' Cabernet is hand crafted to be a wine that while mistakably Cabernet, retaining a deep core of fruit and varietal characteristics - while being a wine that flows gently across the palate and very approachable. A cabernet sauvignon with a soul of black cherries, blackberries, cedar and spices. Full and round with elegant, velvety tannins and a long aftertaste with notes of tobacco and smoke.

Church Block was the first wine the late Greg Trott produced under the Wirra Wirra label back in 1972. He took the name from one of the original vineyards, which runs next to the small Bethany Church (est. 1854) across the road from Wirra Wirra's century old ironstone cellars. Over five decades, the Church Block label has become an Australian favourite.

The ¾ tonne Wirra Wirra bell that sits proudly atop their cellars is rung to announce the start and finish of each vintage in McLaren Vale and for other suitable celebrations. For generations it rung out thrice daily from the Jesuit Church at Norwood, South Australia at 6am, midday and 6pm, calling the faithful to joyful prayer. In honour of that tradition, the name 'The Vintage Bell' is reserved for only exceptional parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon which are selected and vinified at Wirra Wirra.
