Founded in 1937, Brookfields Vineyards is Hawke's Bay's Oldest Boutique Winery, situated alongside the glistening waters of the Tutaekuri River, between Napier and Hastings.
Gorgeous aromas of bright cherry, blackcurrant and dark plum with toasted oak. A Medium bodied palate with silky tannins and long, ripe fruit and berry aftertaste, with impressive balance of fruit and polished tannins.
Aromatic nose of concentrated blackcurrant fruit with dark chocolate and violet notes. A concentrated wine with layers of dark berry and cassis fruit, mingling with dark chocolate and tobacco leaf notes. Long lingering finish.
Chocolate, Cassis and mint flavours on the nose. These flavours carry over to the palate with he addition of ripe berry flavours. The parcels of premium Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon used in this wine were open fermented before being gently pressed and racked to barrel.
The McDonald Series wines are an expression of both their fruit and the vision of their namesake winemaker. This full-bodied wine is packed with layers of rich berry fruit, cassis and dark cacao notes, along with lifted cedar and thyme aromas. While impressive now, the powerful yet fine-grained tannin structure ensures great longevity. This wine is unfined and unfiltered to preserve quality. Some precipitate may form with time and decanting is recommended.

A deep dark colour with brilliant purple hues. The bouquet is rich in blackcurrants with hints of chocolate and aniseed followed by dark berry fruits on the palate. The wine is superbly balanced with soft silky tannins on the finish.
Warm, enticing blueberry aromas with mocha chocolate, cedar spice, plums and cassis. Big, soft and generous, the palate displays plum and berry compote, toasted vanilla and boysenberry. Hints of mocha chocolate complement the rich, velvety finish.
Intense red with purple hues. Full bodied with dense ripe cassis fruit flavours balanced with vanillin oak but yet long and smooth. Try with char grilled sirloin or a heart minestrone. This wine has the flavour, structure and balance to be enjoyed now or offers added satisfaction from further cellaring.
